Psalms: Bringing a Sacrifice of Praise

I gave my life to Christ over 25 years ago, but I am ashamed to say that I have not always walked with Him faithfully. In 2011, I had a crisis of faith. Things were not going well in my life, and I doubted God's goodness. During that period of questioning and seeking the truth, God showed me who I was and who He was - what a contrast!

Since then, I have been more intentional about reading my Bible and communicating with God through prayer. I am an introvert. My reclusiveness had carried over into my prayer life, and that needed to change. It dawned on me as I was reading the Psalms that they could teach me how to pray - that they could give me the words when I didn't know what to say. So, I began writing down one verse of praise and one verse of thanksgiving from each psalm. Now when I pray, I begin with these verses.

I created this journal to give a little more structure to my notes and to allow me to record the rich spiritual truths that I was discovering in the Psalms. This process has enriched my relationship with the Lord. I pray that it does the same for you.
